My second Craftsman jack has died. Anybody have a recommendation for a good, low-profile floor jack? 2ton or more.

That's an incredibly dirty joke to put in a kids cartoon.

Harbor Freight aluminum 2.5 ton one. Mine is 5 years old, I use it A LOT (lots of car work and racing activities) and it hasn't yet failed...

at 80 bucks, it's superb value (look for harbor freight coupons in the mail...or just get a coupon book at their doorstep in any store...20% off is a very very common thing to find)

I may have paid even less for mine too... It was a floor model without a box, so I negotiated it down to $40 or $5o....including the normal warranty, which I never needed anyway

My 35 year old no name asian made floor jack finally failed. I went to a hydraulics shop and bought a new pack and o ring for $4, and a quart of jack oil for $9 Back in business!

Costco has a 2.5 ton jack for $100. I haven't had to use it a lot, but it seems pretty solid.

I have a 2.5 ton STEEL low profile jack in my shop. Works great, and its been tested, I have used it to lift my 89 f350 crewcab diesel, and my 4200LB LS400. Handles heavy stuff well and does even better on light cars like my dsm.

Low-profile? Needs to fit under race cars.

Might be low enough. The top of the pad is 4" from the ground, but by the time it gets to the pump it's about 6". If you can lift your car from the pinch welds it'll be fine, might be tougher if you've got to get all the way to subframe members. But if you're going that route, you can always drive up onto two by fours first to get some extra clearance.

I bought one at Costco four years ago, fits under my Cayman and does a fine job. For oil changes and whatnot I usually use my Rhino ramps though
